I was looking for a winter hunting experience that demanded both physical and mental toughness, so I booked a mountain lion hunt with Tangle Ridge Outfitters. Brent and Becky run a straightforward, honest operation and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The entire crew worked tirelessly to get me on an 8+ year-old mature tom.
Brent and Jayce have extensive mountain lion knowledge, years of experience, excellent terrain to hunt, and a remarkable pack of experienced hounds. Jayce’s dedication to these dogs is clear, he trains them year round to ensure they’re always ready to hit the mountain.
For me, mountain lion hunting is an adrenaline rush from the moment the dogs strike all the way to the tree. I highly recommend Tangle Ridge Outfitters for a mountain lion hunt or any of the other incredible outdoor adventures they offer.

I enjoyed our hunt very much. Jayce did a great job and I enjoyed having him accompany me on our hunt. Please give him my best wishes.  I’ll let my nephew and his Dad make their own comments but I was impressed with Marty, as well. See, I tagged along with them after killing my own buck on the second morning. I wanted soak up the hunting experience and figured that another set of eyes might be helpful as long as I stayed out of the way otherwise. It was a great experience to be there when both of them got their deer. To see them experience the same excitement I felt was special.

Roy, and Jayce could not have done anything better. They both worked hard from sunrise until sunset. They put me in position to make a stalk well over 1000 yards down to a 100 yards for a shot and harvest. Although the buck was not a big wall hanger It was a perfect ending to a deer hunt for a 75 year old man with 2 artificial knees. I hope I am able to make a return trip to hunt with Tangle Ridge soon.Great family outfit!

​Food was great. Livestock performed well. They have a really nice campsite in awesome country. You can drink from the creek. Bears weren't cooperating, but that's hunting. This was my 3rd hunting trip with TRO. They do a great job of taking care of you. Would definitely hunt with them again.

I had an extremely wonderful time hunting in Newcastle this year! Your professionalism of your team was top rate! ( hunted with Roy) My wife and I stayed at the RV park located at the Flying V lodge. What a perfect spot to set up a base with all of the amenities that are there ( processing, range, RV park, beautiful location) I am looking forward to another hunt in the near future since I have 7 deer points accumulated. I did an antelope hunt out of Cheyenne. Communication before the hunt was great and all arrangements went off without a hitch. Jayce was my guide and clearly knew the lay of the land, and how to judge antelope. He was willing to listen to what I was looking for. There was never any pressure to take a shot, just good use of optics, and plenty of opportunities to look over good bucks. We got busted on a couple of stalks before harvesting an excellent buck on the first morning. All in all, a great guide, a uncrowded ranch, and plenty of antelope to choose from!

 I just want to let you know, my wife Cheryl and I had a great time on the hunt. Our guides Jase and Caden were great very good horse man and defiantly knowledgeable beyond their years. your cooking was awesome, and we both enjoyed talking with you. I think all of the guides were great and tried very hard to get where we could get a shot on an elk.
Food was good and always plenty. The hunters in camp were all nice people and Brent put me in a cabin with a great guy.
I got a great 6X6. Jim did a great job field dressing him and Brent was perfect on the cape. (My taxidermist commented on the nice job.) brent was very helpful in freezing my cape and his Dad met me to pick it up - great team work! Becky's Mom filled in for her and couldn't have been nicer!
I'd go back again next year if I could draw again!
(Note that I checked Great physical shape - I would probably say good, but I did work pretty hard to be in shape.)

The trip was great. The people, food and accomodations were excellent. Tangle Ridge Outfitters is hands down the best outfitter! We did a 4 day mule deer hunt at the mountain camp in the outfitter tents and the whole trip and experience was incredible. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was well taken care of. The camp cook was phenomenal and our guide was amazing. We often returned to camp from a long, hard day of hunting and hiking with a wood stove fire started in our outfitter tent and a delicious meal waiting for us. It was our first time
horse back riding and they made us feel so comfortable and at ease when riding! We hunted hard for all 4 days and were successful with mule deer on the last day.
We hope to come back every year and hunt with Tangle Ridge - great people and always a great time!

The Flying V was outstanding, highly recommend staying with them. Roy my guide was also outstanding, let me know what was going on all the time and came up with good plans for the hunts. Really great experience, especially if you’ve never been in the mountains before. I will definitely return again for another hunt. Our guide was awesome as well as Brent and Becky. I highly recommend that you get your conditioning as high as possible for these high elevation type hunts. A stepmill or stairclimber would be best, for the type of work you will be doing. I was on an early season hunt, hiked many miles in the ranches but the elk were still in the high country. Guides were great trying everything imaginable to get us into elk. Ended up going up into the Big Horns and had some good encounters but bulls were with harems of cows and not interested in coming to calls. Overall had a great time and highly recommend Tangle Ridge Outfitters.

I WAS AMAZED AT THE NUMBER OF ELK/BULLS WE SAW EACH DAY. I HAD SHOOTING OPPORTUNITIES EACH DAY. BOTH GUIDES WERE UNCANNY IN THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF WHERE THE ELK WOULD EMERGE IN THE EVENING AND POSITIONING US FOR SHOTS. I HAD SOME PHYSICAL ISSUES AND BRETT MADE SURE I HAD SHOOTING CHANCES THAT WERE WITHIN MY PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES. I HAVE BEEN ON OTHER GUIDED HUNTS THAT I RARELY ACTUALLY SAW ELK, HAD NO SHOOTING OPPORTUNITIES, AND THE GUIDES WERE FUNCTIONAL, NOT PERSONALLY ACCOMMODATING AND I WAS IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS WERE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT I WAS TOLD THE GUIDES WOULD HAVE RANGEFINDERS SO I DID NOT REPLACE MY DAMAGED ONE. ONE EVENING WE DID NOT HAVE ONE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BIG HELP. THE SHOOTING DISTANCES ARE LONG AND DIFFICULT TO ESTIMATE. THE NEXT DAY WE HAD ONE AND I KILLED A BULL. OVERALL, IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR MY SON AND I. IT FELT LIKE WE WERE HUNTING WITH FRIENDS WHO WERE EAGER FOR OUR SUCCESS. THE HUNTING AREA IS AMAZING MY BIGGEST REGRET IS TO GET ENOUGH PREFERENCE POINTS WILL TAKE 5 YEARS AND I WILL BE 81 AND PROBABLY BE UNABLE PHYSICALLY TO HUNT THERE AGAIN.
